In June we went with the Lawson side of the family to Yellowstone. We had beautiful weather until our last day when it turned into this:
A Winter Wonderland!
Dawson thought the buffalo were awesome and burst into "Guy on a Buffalo" whenever we saw them roaming the sides of the highway.
Silly Dawson's first buffalo encounter. |
We bunked-up with Kaysha, Cam, and Oakley, and it was surprisingly not squishy! The first night of the trip was a little sleepless, though. :)
Always so helpful.... |
Peek-a-boo cute Desmond! |
Dawson chillin' with his hip cousin. |
We were overlooking a much-too-high waterfall. Notice Jeffrey's death-grip on my wrist...just in case I started climbing over the fence. :) |
Terraces at Mammoth Hot Springs |
The boys were excited to finally be warm! |
Look-out Dawson! I stepped inside this souvenir shop and I bought Desmond a stuffed moose and Dawson a buffalo (the "Guy on a Buffalo" song immediately followed). |
Desmond and Grandma Lawson sporting their navy blue "Pismo Beach" hoodies. |
IT WAS FREEEEEZING! Desmond had the right idea. |
On our way home from Yellowstone we stayed a night in Jackson, WY. The next day we wandered around town. While in this homemade ice-cream shop (I have no idea what it was called!) Dawson was sitting on the counter in front of a big window. A group of Asian tourists started snapping wildly and posing with him in the background. Oddly, it was one of the highlights of the trip for me.
Breakfast in Jackson |
Kaysha pointed us in the direction of Yippy I-O Candy Co. in Jackson. Dawson could hardly contain himself (neither could the rest of us...)! |
Words can't express Dawson's joy. |
